I’m in Facebook jail again…and again

Let’s see, Facebook threw me in jail for leaving an objective figurative comment on a bad misleading video that was attempting to pass itself off as a real video about finding a bodybag floating at sea. All that drama over some garbage. Why wasn’t the video flagged as it was a fiction that misrepresented the truth? It was also a colossal waste of time to watch, and was, at best, a bad prank. Luckily I could scrub through it.

I was pretty irritated. So I agreed with another commenter, and added a dicey simile. The prerequisite bimbo on a boat babe, had a nauseating laugh that put shrieking parrots to shame. It seems I am always being called out by Facebook for my figurative use of language. Facebook actually gave me 13 window’s-worth of admonishments. And, I’ve been thrown in jail. A red card jail, the highest award in Facebook-land, I tell you! And, not even for making a pithy political comment. Since when is wanting to “strangle someone’s voice,” considered hate speech or a crime against humanity when the woman’s incessant whining throughout the entire video itself, was a crime against humanity? OK, so maybe it wasn’t completely benign.

There are Facebook sanctions—and I do mean “sanction” in both terms of the word: certain taboo words, of which, no one knows the complete list, that cannot be used alone. And here’s the clincher—to modify another word, or idea. OK, fine by me. I’ve been sanctioned for going too fast, or liking posts and comments too fast, I’ve been sanctioned for posting my own links on my own page—marked as spam.

And I’ve received multiple yellow card warning sanctions against use the use of unusual figurative language. Only, this time, the card was red. Let the punishment fit the crime. In the klinker for making mixed metaphors. Now the AI sniffer bots scrutinize my every post—like dogs sniffing assholes. See, that’s an example of figurative language.

What would the Facebook AI bots do if, say, James Joyce was on Facebook? O bhuel. It just means that I have even more time for writing. Let me begin my writing retreat by writing this piece now.

PS Oh, I got even more restrictions for posting my restriction notices on my Facebook page. So I got dinged twice for using the same figurative language once. I’m beginning to think of wearing this badge with honor.
