Backside of the moon

My flabber is gasted and my mind blown daily by these NASA photos. The back ass of the moon. When’s the last time you saw that, if ever? You do know that the moon always keeps its face towards the earth. I think that earth image is Baja California. This photo may be from the space station. John Butcher said it might be a Photoshop overlay since the ISS is between the earth and moon, only  230 miles out. One theory down. Jeremy M Shaver said there’s another satellite beyond the ISS space station that could’ve recorded the photo. Edward Carl Hylin said it’s a genuine NASA photo of the far side of the moon, illuminated by the sun, taken by DSCOVR. Thanks, guys!

From NASA: “Behold the moment when the moon passed between Nasa's Deep Space Climate Observatory and the Earth, allowing the satellite to capture this rare image of the moon's far side in full sunlight. We don't see this side of the moon. 

This is because the moon is tidally locked to the earth and doesn't rotate. So we only see one face of the moon from the earth. Humans may likely land on the far side of the moon before the end of this Century. This is indeed beautiful shot.”
