Long ago, when I was struggling to grasp a concept of how the universe was shaped, I was thinking along the lines of the time-space continuum, gawd only knows why, how the past and the present could coexist at the same time. Using Kekule’s concept of problem-solving via dreams, I dreamt that the universe was vast grid system by way an explanation, or perhaps it was merely a metaphor. But in the dream the lines didn’t run parallel or horizontal, no flat universe grids (that model is only for cats, those gravity-masters), the grid lines bent up at the edges, the way a straw looks like it’s in two places at once in a glass of water, and then it became circular, or bent. Sort of like being inside a Möbius strip. A warped universe. So I spent the morning making Möbius strip timelines with beginning, middle, and end. That model accounted for the past and present, but not the future. Epic model fail. The universe is roundish or sphering with a twist. Or two. Maybe even a Gordian knot. And we’re trapped on the inside, like mitochondria. The gravity of this situation is flawed. Not to mention the timeline. The origins of the universe is/was a singularity of infinite mass turning itself inside out, becoming a multiverse. Everything to-ing and fro-ing while expanding and contracting at the same time.
A much safer version of this comment was declined by the JWST group on FB. It was no less outlandish than anyone else’s comment at the time. The mention of cats did it in. Of course, I have decided to go all out and expand its silliness since then.
