EMPTY SIDEWALKS

EMPTY SIDEWALKS

Empty city sidewalks
Light gushes out of the streetlamp
like water from the faucet
and bathes the stone-cold midnight sidewalk
with its fluorescent spray,
while the parched earth wait
for the new dawn.

No date. But it is making a note of the drought even back in 1978 or 79 whenever this poem was written.
