The Deepwater
Horizon oil rig fire has exposed the obscene behaviour of the world’s
fourth-largest corporation, British Petroleum (BP). No other country has been
ravaged by BP as much as Iran. BP was founded in 1902 as the
Anglo-Persian Oil Company (APOC) to exploit Iran's oil
reserves. And now BP exploits the Gulf of Mexico.

This is probably the greatest crime of the century because of the long-term ecological consequences. See video.
During
Beltaine, 1989, I had a series of disturbing dreams where old men were
setting the Gulf water on fire. I did not understand the imagery‚ it was
too horrible to conceive. One line made it into this poem. I assumed it
was a Gulf War image. But now I see that I was lucid dreaming. Another Gulf.
