Yet another epic Facebook AI bot fail

Today I was replying my cousin’s comment to my post on my Facebook wall with a memory about our Irish cousin Liam who just died—and for my efforts, I got this 6-Day “Content is not allowed” restriction out of the blue. The ONLY warning I got was a little red box around my benign comment. You can see a screenshot of my comment below and note the red exclamation mark over my profile photo.

but I have learned the hard way, is the minute you get a red box around your comment and it says re-try sending, it probably is not a bad Wi-Fi connection—but Facebook AI censorship bots putting you on hold while they determine whether or not you are breaking rules or violating community standards.

Back to my saga. Facebook declined to post my comment about how Liam, when he was a small child followed us about, we were the exotic American cousins. I got this: “Your account activity didn't follow our Community Standards, so you can't do one or more things you usually do.” I have no idea why it was restricted. Was it the word “doggedly?” or “death?”

I assumed it was a fluke but when I tried to repost my comment, I found out the restriction was real enough when I tried to answer Molly Fisk’s question as to why Facebook is continually harassing me. I have no clue. Part of my restriction now is I cannot leave comments on anyone’s threads— including my own. Only here. Facebook doesn’t tell you what it’s restricting. It’s all learn as you go. And trying to appeal is as clear as mud. From what I can tell, you can’t voice a complaint anywhere.

You cannot imagine how angry I am with Facebook’s absolutely asinine restrictions. This time I didn’t make a bad pun or simile. I wasn’t even being sarcastic! This amounts to a gag order. Does anyone actually work for Facebook that can intervene? Clearly, Facebook is constantly harassing and monitoring me. The despotic Facebook AI bot algorithms suck.

I can’t reply to friends’ comments, I can only reply to their comments in my original post. I have no idea why I am constantly targeted by Facebook. Kafkaesque doesn’t even begin to cover it.

I document every Facebook AI bot fail in my blog, including the latest atrocity. A string of transgressions I have been busted for include: posting a photo of Einstein’s desk (for sexual content!), a benign comment to Fort Ross about Gravenstein apples, a photo of a spotted horse and chicken (not sure how posting a photo of leucistic animals or Gravenstein apples goes against community standards), or the use of lame simile, etc.

I’m still trying to figure out why this sentence triggered Facebook AI bots: “The oldest Gravensteins in Sonoma County, perhaps even in the state of California.” How is this spam? I was also flagged for spam when I posted a photo of Jack Hirschman, who died of COVID. Are people not allowed to mention their dead on Facebook? Help me out here.

You tell me why Facebook AI bots wait with baited breath to throw me in jail (partial jail this time) for creating original and meaningful content. And what are the secret words that trigger AI bot wrath?  Is it the word “doggedly,” or is it “die?” I refuse to use the lame euphemism, “passed.” I hate it. “Passed away” is only marginally better.

I want to be able to use the word “die” in a sentence because, after all, death is final. Like Dylan Thomas, I do not plan to go gentle unto that good night. I too plan to rage, rage against the dying of the light. The anemic term “passed” always triggers the question passed what? Gas? Talk about gaslighting. A case of a verb posing as a red herring. Or a stuck fart. This is a snapshot of the original post on my wall.

Once a favorite holiday, Halloween is a time of mourning. Cousins Liam Walsh & sister, Sinead Kelly RIP. She returned to Bantry for her brother’s funeral & died this morning. How can one possibly contain all this grief? My heart goes out to all their siblings. But I cannot leave a consoling comment, because Facebook assumes I am violating community standards again.

In case Facebook thinks I’m making up the deaths of my cousins, here are their funeral notices. Facebook is an obscene ogre app. Why punish me by not letting me comment on my own posts because two cousins have died? I can’t even make a comment about the date change of Sinead’s memorial service.
