Hope to be in Omagh, Ireland, next week if we can get a good passage, everything's so expensive...I'm in Manchester the noo. Crossing the Mersey was not like crossing the Mississippi at Memphis, but there was a thrill. it's Ferry, cross the Mersey... all this time I thought it was Mary crossing the Mersey.
We're in Manchester at the moment, just back from Wales... It's so very post industrial here. Makes Glasgow seem like a Victorian queen. Never thought I'd say that.
Liverpool in the distance with all its smokestacks. Grey on grey against a grey sky drained of color. Even the river is the color of steel. Manchester is made entirely of brick, so it's a red city.
My iMac went down with a flourish right before we left stateside and I'm down to the very sluggish Macbook...no pix on it, alas...teeny hard drive. Believe it or not the DVD drive went down too...so I can't resurrect the iMac... Luckily I have most stuff on a back up HD...it will be hard work to restore all my data when I return home.
I'll be back stateside Aug 7 by way of Cape Cod to perform at the Cranberry Coast Concert series. We have at least four gigs. It should be fun. I've never been to Massachusetts. I'm thinking of that Bee Gee's song...
It's been that kind of a summer. Sappy pop song fragments and little else worthy of transcribing. Oh, and some 5000 photos to sort and edit. They will yield more language, I think.
