A sheetcake with my name scribed on it mysteriously appeared on my doorstep this morning. If you're in the 'hood and have a yen for shaving cream textured chocolate frosting, drop on by this evening between 5 & 7 PM. I also inherited 5 lbs of cream cheese, so bring something to go with it, if you want savory. Wine is always good too. It seems I've got the cheese covered. Irish soda bread's being assembled now... Vats of tea to follow. Ricky got the oven lit. Explains why the salmon didn't bake and my excruciating headaches the past few days. I've been gassed. So come on over, it'll be a gas especially if I make Brussel sprouts.
It turned out to be a fabulous impromptu bash and there was music and beautiful white frosting roses. Thank you Chuck, Chetana, Rama, Micaela, Neil. Toni & Paul for your company, for bringing in my new year so gloriously. I needed that celebration and closure. Birthdays are tough—especially when they compete with Thanksgiving eve.
