Standing on the San Andreas Fault, I straddle two continents.
Rock wallflower in serpentine gravel at eye level, Crystal Lakes (San Andreas Fault). San Mateo County. Erysimum X? is a Brassicaceae related to mustard. Cream-colored E. franciscanum does come in bright yellow in its southern range (to Santa Cruz). About 6" tall.
Tidytips growing in serpentine gravel, like small artists painting the wind with perfume. Crystal Lakes, San Mateo County. Layia platyglossa?
Missed the pussywillows (again). Catkins calling out my name... mewling in the underbrush.
What I nearly stepped on...she had a lot to say and scolded me for my carelessness.
