A POEM FOR MT. ST. HELENS 1980
Here, the dawn breaks
like a dancer veiled in vermillion.
Here, it arrives in crimson clouds
arranged against cerulean skies.
It swirls and leaps in fleeting colors

until we are dizzied about
and all out of breath.
