PENGUINS on BARTOLEME ISLAND

Bartolomé Island.
Yesterday we swam with penguins,
poor, misguided polar birds,
lost enroute from an ice flow
somewhere in Antarctica,
who decided paradise
look pretty good after all.
The water is fricking cold
for being at 0° latitude,
in the frigid equator.
No wonder they feel at home.
