CURIOUS FACTS

CURIOUS FACTS

An old man singing
a moon song
of the third eye in the sky
said use an old idea
early in the morning
once a search is in progress
something will be found
in the tidal reefs
a mirror sleeping
a blind-eyed bird singing
like Orpheus.
Don’t be frightened
by the somberness of clouds
in the dawn’s light.

TWILIGHT ARRIVES

TWILIGHT ARRIVES

Twilight arrives late and out of breath
looking for a reason to blame the sun
or perhaps the night—for vagaries of light.
It begins as an excuse, turns into a reason
even though birds come & innocence
returns to a life of wrinkled sleep.
It opens all kinds of darknesses.
Here, where light learned how to fly,
here, where darkeness learned
its own conclusion, its own end.
Here where the edge of night
arrives at the beginning of dawn,
where darkness turned to stone,
all is quiet, the world created
from the perfection of sleep.
All is darkness,
all is light.
